If you've seen at least one episode of MTV cribs, you'll find that there isn't one fabulous house that doesn't come along with a home theatre or an entertainment room. If you've got the time, money and the creativity to whip up some magic in your home, try adding in an entertainment room. It could be anything that you would want it to be; let it be a room that really entertains you. Now there are many ways to go about this, but most ideally, you would definitely want to pick out a space for it first in advance before you start buying in some pool tables or more couches to fill up some spaces. 1. Have a space ready to have the boys in during the big game. It doesn't matter if you've decided to put your “entertainment room” in the basement or in the attic, what's important here is that the other parts of your home don't get disrupted by the noise and ruckus sports games bring whenever you and your friends gather to watch them. Having a large high definition television set, an awesome sound system and some really comfortable couches might even be enough already to be called an entertainment room. It doesn't have to be flashy and it doesn't have to be as expensive as you think it should be. You can work around your budget and determine what things you really do need inside your own entertainment room. Entertainment can be anything that ranges from watching movies, sports games, playing some pool or any other game like pinball or darts. You make your room what it is. 2. This would reduce noise pollution at home. Have your own personal space at home where you and your boys don't really get bothered whenever you get together. Case in point here again would be another sports game. All the noise you will be making by shouting and cheering on your favorite team would be quite disrupting if you would be doing this in the living room. This would normally prompt your wife to ease up on the noise so your kids could sleep or continue studying. If you had an entertainment room however, you could soundproof this part of your home to make sure that nobody gets disturbed. 3. Poker night? No problem. Entertainment rooms go beyond just high definition television sets and really cool and comfortable couches. Now you finally have a place to play poker in where your cigar smoke, laughter and loud noises won't be a bother to anyone. Poker games can usually take all night depending on how many of you are playing. When it reaches hours past midnight or even close to sunrise already, you wouldn't want to be waking up the misses or your neighbors. Oh and here's another thing to think about; if you have an entertainment room, it's a whole lot easier to clean your place since most of the mess during get togethers will usually be concentrated in this area. |
